On behalf of the Founder and Chancellor, Aare Afe Babalola, SAN, the Board of Trustees, the Council, Senate and, indeed, the entire Afe Babalola University community, I welcome you to our University, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, ABUAD, which has been variously described as a model, a benchmark and a reference point in quality, functional and reformatory education in Nigeria.
Our University is a Federal Government licensed, non – profit Private University in Nigeria. Its vision is to reform and provide functional education by example and lead others in quality education, industry, service and character as well as discipline, following the models of world class Universities.
Following its giant strides since inception on 4th January, 2010, the University has won several national and international awards, including Best Private University in Nigeria Award by the National Association of Nigerian Law Students, 2012. The University has been acknowledged by All African Students Union with headquarters in Ghana, present and former president and Heads of State of Nigeria, the National Universities Commission (NUC) (the Regulatory Body for Education in Nigeria), and numerous stakeholders as a model, benchmark and reference point, the most dynamic, progressive and fastest growing Private University in Africa.
We operate a collegiate system and have seven of such colleges. They are: the College of Law, College of Sciences, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, College of Engineering, College of Social and Management Sciences and College of Arts and Humanities each with several Departments and programmes. Besides, we run pre-degree and degree foundation programmes in all the Colleges except College of Law.
ABUAD was established solely as an agent for transforming tertiary education in Nigeria. It was designed to be a reference point for other Universities on planning, environment, aesthetic structures, teaching aid and quality education. The atmosphere is very peaceful and conducive to learning, the structures are second to none, and the equipment and facilities in all our structures are the latest. The usual ills associated with Universities such as indiscipline, cultism, hooliganism and outright brigandage are non – existent here. We have a code of conduct and dressing for Students and Staff.
Here in Afe Babalola University, we give our Students a unique gift, a special form of freedom that comes only with education. We value the development of personal and entrepreneurial capabilities in every Student, hence entrenching in them the values of excellence, integrity and service, the core building blocks for the development of future communities and nations.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
The University wishes to inform you that the End-of -Year Break for all students will commence on 15th December,2024.In line with this, all students are expected to vacate their halls of residence and the University premises and proceed on Vacation.
We kindly request that you make all necessary arrangements for transportation to ensure your wards leave the campus promptly.
As we wish your family a joyful and restful holiday, the University Council and the entire Management extend warm greetings for a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Please note that students are expected to resume on Saturday,4th January 2025, and academic activities will commence on Monday, 6th January 2025.
