The College of Social and Management Sciences, ABUAD, is segmented into three faculties – Social Sciences, Management Sciences and Humanities. The Social Science faculty covers human behaviour in relation to scarce resources and its authoritative allocation, with security of lives, liberty and property through intelligence gathering and the role of the media. It includes man’s interactions with others and his environment in a way that would avoid or minimize conflicts through peace-building, social justice and strong institutions. It further, includes relations and political activities among the sovereign states of the world ecotourism and other globalization issues. Our Social Science faculty, thus, houses Economics, Political Science, Intelligence and Security Studies, Media and Communication Studies, Sociology and Social Justice, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Relations and Diplomacy as well as Tourism and Events Management.
The Management Science faculty covers the administration of business organisation through the management of human resources, financial and other resources by separating ownership from stewardship (i.e. control of organisational resources), thus providing the basis for stewardship accounting. It also involves the development of entrepreneurial, managerial and analytical skills. Thus, our Management Sciences faculty houses Business Administration (i.e. Management), Entrepreneurship, Finance and Accounting. Also, the faculty of Arts and Humanities covers creative arts, demanding specific performances, cultural arts and lingua franca.
