Professor Sylvester Oluwadare Ojo (fnie)
Professor Sylvester Oluwadare Ojo was born in Ado Ekiti on 20th November, 1956. He attended University of Ife (OAU) 1975-1979, University of Ibadan, Ibadan 1982-1983 and the Federal University of technology, Akure 1996-2000. He obtained the following academic qualifications: PhD (2000), M.Sc. (1983) and B.Sc. (1979).
His working experience include;
- Classroom Teacher/ Vice Principal (1973-1975, 1979-1985) with the old Ondo State Teaching Service Commission
- He was with the Okitipupa Oil-Palm Plc, Okitipupa, 1985-1997 and left as Assistant General Manager Plantations.
- He joined the Federal University of Technology, Akure on 2nd March 1998 as Lecturer II and became a Professor on 1st October, 2010.
- Prof Ojo joined Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti since October 2016
- He is currently on Leave of Absence in Afe Babalola University as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) with effect from April, 2018.
Prof Ojo is a prolific writer and has published 69 articles in both local and international journals and in conference proceedings.
He has supervised 27 Masters Students and 14 PhD students, 4 of whom are now Professors.
He has held a number of positions within the University community; Coordinator of Post Graduate Diploma Programme, Head of Department, Senate membership and Standing Senate Committees.
He is a member of many Professional Associations like;
Fellow of the Institute of Economists of Nigeria (INEN) and Member of Nigerian Association of Agricultural Economists (NAAE).
He is happily married and blessed with progressive children.
