Director of Sports Dr. Edward Gboyega Babalola is an associate professor at Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti (ABUAD). He received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Mercer University in Macon, Ga. He furthered his education when he received his MBA in Atlanta, Georgia in 2004. After 3 years of working for SunTrust Bank in Atlanta, he decided to return to school to purse his doctorate degree. Dr Babalola finished his PhD programme in 2011 with his concentration in Management. During his study, Dr. Babalola also worked at Bank of America to broaden his business acumen and experience. Upon relocating to Nigeria in 2014, Dr Babalola began to lecture and also serve as a member of Afe Babalola University Council. In addition, Dr Babalola served as the LOC chairman of Nigerian Private University Games which was successfully held at ABUAD. In 2019, Dr Babalola was promoted to the rank of associate professor. Furthermore, based on his performance as the LOC chairman and other involvement in sports at Afe Babalola University, Dr Babalola assumed the role of director of sports in ABUAD in 2019. Dr Babalola is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing.
