VC RECEIVES PROFESSOR BAMIDELE ADEBISI

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor E.S. Olarinde has received Professor Bamidele Adebisi in her office. During the brief ceremony, Professor Olarinde expressed her delight at the visit, stating that it underscores ABUAD’s active commitment to academic excellence and willingness to grow linkage opportunities for both faculty and students.

Adebisi, a Professor in Intelligent Infrastructure Systems, and Director of Smart Infrastructure and Industry Research Group at Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom is on a three-day working visit to ABUAD, facilitated by the Chancellor, Aare Afe Babalola, and the Vice-Chancellor.

Both the Founder/Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor who received Adebisi in the audience expressed profound happiness that the United Kingdom-based Professor could find time to come and witness the giant strides happening in ABUAD. During discussions, Aare Afe Babalola stated his displeasure in the poor fortunes of some academics. He said, “There is no reason why a sound academic should be poor’’ in addition, he said, “A brilliant mind who could publish copiously has every reason to be financially secured, that is why I have brought you here to enlighten my faculty”. The Vice-Chancellor, said that with programmes such as this, “within the shortest possible time, the fortunes of our academics will change for the best, especially with the interventions of public-spirited individuals such as Aare Afe Babalola”.

The visibly delighted scholar, Professor Adebisi noted with delight that the physical infrastructure in ABUAD competes favorably with what obtains in the developed world. He said, “I am impressed and only by physically coming to ABUAD. He acknowledged that impressive and great developments are natural here”. He noted, that the interactive session with both students and faculty was poised to be great.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olarinde requested the Director of International Linkages, Professor Olajide Olubiyi to ensure that the visiting Professor is taken on a guided tour before the event for him to see the splendor of ABUAD.
