OGEES Director, Professor Damilola S. Olawuyi, Receives Prestigious Fellowship Of The University Of Cambridge, United Kingdom

The Director of the Institute for Oil, Gas, Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development (OGEES Institute) at Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, Professor Damilola S. Olawuyi, has been awarded the Herbert Smith Freehills Visiting Professorship at the Faculty of Law, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom from May 2019.

The Herbert Smith Freehills Visitor Fellowship provides financial support for leading academics from across the world to conduct collaborative academic research at the Cambridge Faculty of Law.

Also, to facilitate high-quality interaction between legal academics and practitioners, visiting scholars are also often invited to speak at the London office of Herbert Smith Freehills.

During this visit, Professor Olawuyi, who is also the Vice President of the International Law Association (Nigerian Branch), will undertake comparative and collaborative evaluation of law, governance and contractual aspects of structuring, financing, designing and operating public-private energy infrastructure projects, with the aim to draw lessons from the United Kingdom’s public-private partnerships (PPP)
framework.
