Programmes

LL.B Law: This is the programme that leads to the award of Bachelor of Law Degree and also a prerequisite for the vocational training in Nigerian Law School. A candidate seeking to be called to the Nigerian Bar from Nigerian universities must obtain this degree before he or she can be admitted into the Nigerian law School. Its duration is 5 years for UTME or Ordinary Level Certificate entry students and 4 years for A’ Level candidates. This is a full time programme and the students must live on campus throughout their period of study except on holidays.

LL.M Law, (proposed): The College is currently designing general and specialist LL.M programmes to be studied either as taught or research programmes. Good performance in these programmes may lead automatically to higher academic programmes in ABUAD or other top foreign universities. The University is currently negotiating partnership on these with some top UK Universities. The programme will commence upon final approval from NUC. It is available as full-time or part-time programme with a minimum duration of one academic year for full-time students.

B.Sc (Hons) Criminology, (proposed): This is a 4 – year programme that leads to the award of Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology. Candidates with a good first degree or advance level certificate may be considered for a 3 – year study period under this programme.

B.Sc (Hons) Police Science, (proposed): This is also a 4 – year programme that leads to the award of Bachelor of Science Degree in Police Science. Candidates with a good first degree or advance level certificates in related fields may be considered for a 3 – year study period under this programme.

M.Sc Criminology, (proposed): This is a Masters Degree in Criminology. Its duration is for a minimum period of 1 academic year. Admission is open to graduates with a good first degree certificate in Law, Criminology or other related courses from universities or other accredited higher institutions. Upon approval, the programme will be run in partnership with foreign universities. It is available as a full-time or part-time programme.

M.Sc Police Science, (proposed):    This is also a Masters Degree in Police Science. Its duration is for a minimum period of 1 academic year. Admission is open to graduates with a good first degree certificate in Law, Criminology or other related courses from universities or other accredited higher institutions. Upon approval the programme will be run in partnership with foreign universities. It is available as a full-time or part-time programme.

Diploma and Certificate Programmes (proposed): the College also has Diploma and Ordinary Certificate programmes in Criminology, Police Science, Social Justice Administration, Technology and entrepreneurship Development. The programmes can be studied either as full-time or part-time programmes.
