Afe Babalola University, the beacon of excellence in tertiary education recently scored another year when Queen Ada Modestus, a final year International Relations and Diplomacy student in Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) and one of the two ABUAD students who in 2013 got the Chinese Scholarship to study in Hangzhou Normal University Hangzhou, Zhejiang province China for one year, has returned to write a book in English language and Chinese language.

Titled “Hidden Identity”, the book is an admixture of fiction and reality which exposes racism and the evil it wrecks in any society. The book also points to the unnoticeable disappearance of our traditions, culture and lots of vital core value system in our society.

With this development, the Language Department of Afe Babalola University is gaining more and more prominence as Modestus, one of the two ABUAD students who got a scholarship to study Chinese language in China upon her return wrote a book, is putting the five-year old university on the world map once again.

Chinese Language was introduced in ABUAD in 2011. In 2013, Modestus and Miss Somiari Elizabeth Belema, both of International Relations and Diplomacy in ABUAD, got a Chinese Government scholarship to study for one year.

The two students come back to school came back with their Proficiency Certificates in Chinese Language from Hangzhou Normal University China and Fujian Normal University China respectively thereby giving them an edge in the highly competitive global labour/employment market.

Come next month, the book will be launched at an elaborate and colourful ceremony in the University.
