Founder, Council and Management visits Governor Fayemi

A call has gone to Ekiti State people to support Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti in its developmental efforts.

The Governor of Ekiti State made the call while receiving the Founder and President Emeritus of the University, who led members of the Governing Council and management staff on a thank you visit .According to the Governor, the conceptualization of the University which remain a miracle was laudable and its actualization a statement of excellence that the Founder stands for, adding that his government will support the institution at all times. He advised Ekiti State University to embrace the virtues of Aare’s hardwork and commitment in managing EKSU. He re-affirmed his promise of granting scholarships to some students of the institution. He also explained that the bus gift was meant to ease transportation problems of workers of the school.

On the airport project in the State, Governor Kayode Fayemi thanked Aare Afe Babalola for his determination and sense of purpose. Earlier, the Founder, had expressed gratitude to the Governor for finding time to attend the Founder’s day celebration despite his very tight schedule. He also thanked him for his gestures particularly his intention to redeem the scholarship pledge and the bus gift.

Earlier, the Governor had requested for a representative of Ekiti Government on the University Council. Responding to the Governor’s demand the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sidi Osho told the Governor that there is a slot for Ekiti State Representative but lamented the inactive nature of the State Representative. She therefore urged the Governor to mandate their representatives to be more active. The Vice Chancellor thanked the Governor for his gestures, adding that ABUAD will appreciate more assistance from the Ekiti State Government

In his vote of thanks, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Michael Ajisafe appealed to the Governor to expedite actions on the rehabilitation of the road linking the University with the rest of the State. He called on him to move closer to the institution and show more commitment and enthusiasm in the University’s development.

The wife of the Founder, Yeye Modupe Babalola, the President, Rector of Europe, Prof Wil Goodheer the Representatives of the Niger State Government and that of the Fountain University, Osogbo were also on entourage.
