Could it be true that two bossom friends, Chief Olusegun and Chief Afe Babalola (SAN) were at loggerheads. Was there a winner or looser? It could only be possible on the Sports Arena where Afe Babalola University, Ado –Ekiti slugged it out with Bells University, Sango Otta, Ogun State.
Former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is the Founder of Bells University while Chief Afe Babalola is the Founder of the Ado-Ekiti based University.
The sprawling city of Ado-Ekiti celebrated one of its grandest moments hosting the finals of the University Sports League at ABUAD’S sports ground on Thursday 23rd February 2012.
Bells University Otta displayed vigour and were purposeful. Their tactics and passion –driven determination paid off when ABUAD conceeded a penalty which was tactically parried by ABUAD goalkeeper. The saved penalty energized ABUAD and they dominated the match resulting in the first goal of the match through a direct free kick which was headed into Bell University’s net by Deji. The excellent skills displayed by ABUAD team in the second half was rewarded with another freekick which was deflected into Bells net for the second goal of the match.

AfeBabalola University therefore emerged the first winner of the University Sports league Competition by beating former President Obasanjo’s Bell University to cart away the medals of honour were presented to winners for their heroic performances by Aare Afe Babalola.
