INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR FRESH AND RETURNING UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS, 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION

Our objective is to identify and admit students who possess a unique combination of intellectual ability and strong character, preparing them to meet the demands of a challenging education and emerge as future leaders. Therefore an essential element of the actualization of the University’s objectives is the identification and admission of students who owing to their ascertainable academic competence and demonstrated innate personal qualities that are best suited to imbibe and put into practice the principles of hard work and excellence for which the Founder is renowned and upon which the University has come into existence.

PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS – REQUIREMENTS

  1. PLACEMENT INTO DEGREE PROGRAMMES
  2. Placement into Degree Programmes is based on performance at the UTME, Post-UTME screening, satisfaction of the O’Level requirements as stated on JAMB brochure for courses and the number of spaces available in the particular programme.
  3. RESUMPTION AND REGISTRATION FOR UTME, DIRECT-ENTRY AND INTER-UNIVERSITY TRANSFER CANDIDATES.
  4. Resumption for 2024/2025 Academic Session shall be communicated in due time. Students are expected to keep checking the website for approved Academic Calendar for 2024/2025 Academic Session.
  5.  Fresh Undergraduates Orientation Programme.
  6. Date for Orientation Programme for Fresh Undergraduates shall be Communicated in due time. Students are expected to keep checking the website for approved Academic Calendar for 2024/2025 Academic Session.
  7. EACH FRESH UNDERGRADUATE IS EXPECTED TO PRESENT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS AT THE POINT OF SCREENING AND REGISTRATION EXERCISE:
  8. ABUAD Provisional Admission Letter.
  9. Birth Certificate.
  10. Current UTME Result.
  11. Read and carry out all instruction on the second page of your Provisional Admission.
  12. Candidates who did not make ABUAD their first choice of institution in JAMB are to visit any JAMB CBT Center or JAMB Office to make the change and present evidence at registration (JAMB Change of Institution Slip). NOTE: JAMB result is only valid for a year.
  13. O’ Level Result :
  14. Colleges of Law and Medicine & Surgery shall accept five O’ Level Credits (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) results at one (1) sitting only.
  15. For other Programmes, Five O’ Level Credits (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) results at one sitting or Six Credit Passes at not more than Two Sittings are acceptable.
  16. 10 copies of passport photographs.
  • A letter of undertaking by the Candidate’s Parent/Sponsor and a letter of guarantee by a Known figure, Christian Clergy, Muslim Cleric or Civil Servant Level 12 or 14 with their telephone numbers and contact details guaranteeing good behavior and compliance with the University’s Rules and Regulations.
  • A sworn Affidavit by the student in a High Court of Justice is required at the point of registration. This affidavit shall include the following details.
  • Name,

  • E-mail address and phone no
  • Name, phone number and E-mail Address of parents
  • That you are enrolled in Afe Babalola University, to study…… (include your programme)
  • That you promise to be of good behavior, honest, diligent, committed to your studies and shall abide by the school rules and regulations.
  • That all documents presented are true and not falsified.
  • Original copies of the candidate’s credentials will be sighted while photocopies will be submitted.
  • PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES
  • Candidates who are offered Provisional Admission are expected to present Online Payment Receipt
  • Details of school fees for 2024/2025 Academic Session and how to make online payment will be made available on the student portal (https://portal.abuad.edu.ng/)
  • OFFICIAL BANKS OPERATING ON CAMPUS FOR STUDENTS’ UPKEEP MONEY

  • Fidelity Bank Plc.
  • Polaris Bank Plc. (Cash Center)

NOTE: Students are NOT advised to operate Bank Accounts with any other BANK as it will be easier for them to visit the banks if need be.

  • MODE OF DRESSING

Afe Babalola University places heavy premium on the appearance of all Staff as well as all Students within and outside the University.

The following are the prescribed dress codes for all students:

College of Law:

  • White on Black and corporate black covered shoes.
  • Trousers and all black dresses are not allowed for Female Law Students.
  • Male Law Students shall wear either ABUAD ties or all black non- patterned ties.

College of Medicine and Health Sciences:

  • Red on matching colour.
  • Only Corporate Trousers are allowed.
  • Male students shall wear either ABUAD ties or any tie of matching colour.

College of Engineering:

  • Leaf green on matching colour.
  • Only Corporate Trousers are allowed.
  • Male students shall wear either ABUAD ties or any tie of matching colour.

College of Sciences:

  • Cream on matching colour.
  • Only Corporate Trousers are allowed.
  • Male students shall wear either ABUAD ties or any tie of matching colour.

College of Social and Management Sciences:

  • Sky- Blue on matching colour.
  • Only Corporate Trousers are allowed.
  • Male students shall wear either ABUAD ties or any tie of matching colour.

College of Pharmacy:

  • Lilac-Purple on black.
  • Only Corporate Trousers are allowed.
  • Male students shall wear either ABUAD tie/Purple tie colour.

Laboratory Wears:

  • College of Medicine and Health Sciences: White Overall
  • College of Pharmacy: White Overall
  • College of Sciences: White Overall
  • College of Engineering: Navy Blue Overall

8. STUDENTS HAIRDRESS AND MAKEUP

  • Female students are not allowed to wear outrageous hairstyles and heavy makeups.
  • Only decent and moderate hairstyles and makeup are allowed.
  • Male students must have well-trimmed haircut and must be clean shaven at all time.
  • Male students shall not at any point in time wear any form of earrings.

All Students are mandated to:

  • Abide by the University dress codes.
  • Dress formally during school hours (8am-3pm), Monday-Friday. However, all Students shall dress decently at all times.
  • All Male Students shall wear ABUAD tie while Female Students shall wear ABUAD scarves to all University Official functions.
  • Wearing of Jeans may be allowed after school hours and weekends provided they are clean and not defaced.
  • STUDENTS ON MEDICATION
  • It is mandatory for Parents to disclose their ward’s health status and prescribed medications. Chronic, genetic or other long term ailments shall be carefully monitored by the University Multi-System Hospital to assist Students achieve best academic and overall results. Therefore, Parents are enjoined to cooperate with the University Management in this regard.
  • HALLS OF RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS

The following are the minimum required items that a student may need during his/her stay in the Hall of Residence:

  • Feeding Allowance
  • Pillow Cases (at least 2)
  • Blankets (at least 2)
  • Bed sheets 4 x 7 (at least 2)
  • Cutlery (Spoons Only)
  • Plastic Buckets (can be purchased in the school)
  • Padlock and Key Ring
  • Torch Light and Batteries
  • Re-chargeable Reading Lamp
  • Plastic Hangers
  • School Bag
  • Sweater
  • Raincoat/Umbrella
  • Toiletries
  • Laptop (Student’s name must be boldly engraved on it and also registered in the Students’ Affairs Office at resumption).
  • Writing materials
  • Sporting Wears;
  • T-shirts with sleeves, Track Down or short, Canvas Shoes (Sneakers), Swimming Trunk/Suit.
  • Provisions (EXCLUDING INDOMINE NOODLES)
  • Nose mask
  • Hand Sanitizer

  • Face masks and all forms of camouflages are strictly prohibited in the University.
  • Any other item that may be specified from time to time.
  • VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • Mobile Phone: the University would allow students to use telephone but prohibited during School Hours.
  • Capturing of Identity Card must be done before permission into the Hall of Residence.
  • Students must duly comply with the ABUAD Residency Agreement before room allocation into the Halls of Residence

NOTE: Students should pack their provisions’ bag separately and clothing’s bags separately, otherwise you shall not be attended to at the gate during resumption.
