The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center Residency Competition –Apply by November 15, 2019

The Rockefeller Foundation is pleased to announce the biannual competition for academic, artist and practitioner residencies at the Bellagio Center. The Center is located in the village of Bellagio on Lake Como in Italy and offers individuals a setting conducive to focused work, as well as the unique and innovative opportunity to establish new connections with fellow residents from a mix of disciplines and geographies during residencies of up to 4 weeks.

The Academic Writing Residency is for university and think tank-based academics, researchers, professors, and scientists working in any discipline. Successful applicants will demonstrate decades of significant professional contributions to their field or show evidence of being on a strong upward trajectory for those earlier in their careers.

The Bellagio Center Arts & Literary Arts Residency is for composers, fiction and non-fiction writers, playwrights, video/filmmakers, dancers, musicians, and visual artists whose work is inspired by or relates to global or social issues.

The Practitioner Residency is for senior-level policymakers, nonprofit leaders, journalists, private sector leaders and public advocates with ten or more years of leadership experience in a variety of fields and sectors.

Bellagio Center residency programs support the work of professionals who share in the Foundation’s pioneering mission to “promote the well-being of humanity.” As the Foundation seeks to bring together diverse perspectives within the residency program, candidates from regions outside of the United States and from a broad range of disciplines and experience level are highly encouraged to apply.

The Foundation provides room and board without charge for all residents and their spouses/partners. Round-trip, economy airfare assistance is available for candidates who demonstrate eligibility based on financial need. Applications are now open with a final deadline on November 15, 2019. Applicants accepted during this open call will be awarded residencies in 2021.
