Welcome | Office of the Vice-Chancellor

The Vice Chancellor of the University is Prof. Sidi Osho. Prof. Osho holds a Ph.D of the University of Ibadan in Food Processing and Technology after she obtained B.Sc in Food Science from Michigan State College of Agriculture, USA and M.Sc in Food Processing and Technology from Ohio State College of Agriculture, USA. Prior to her appointment as the Pioneer Vice Chancellor, she had enjoyed a successful stint as a member of the Academic Staff of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye (former Ogun State University).

Prof. Osho has brought to bear on the discharge of her duties, years of experience garnered in several leading local and international bodies and organizations such as the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). She is also a recipient of several honours and awards including the American Soybean Association Award for recognising and carrying out activities to increase the use of Soybeans and Soybeans product in 1989-2000 and also the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Award for the Best Research Scientist for January 1995.

Prof. Osho is a firm believer in the vision underlying the establishment of the University. This much is clearly discernible from her mission statement which is to make ABUAD a modern, well-managed and efficiently administered university which places premium on academic excellence, moral integrity and healthy competition. She is of the conviction that universities the world over should focus on means of offering assistance to their home countries, and in particular African Universities should assist their countries to attain the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Africa and also help to fulfil the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD) objectives.
