Directorate of Information Technology manages the ABUAD Data Centre and delivers hosted server, storage, virtualization, database, email, and related systems, in addition to connecting the Afe Babalola University campuses to the world via high-speed data, video, Wi-Fi, telecommunications, and VoIP services.

Director's Profile:

Dr. Adebayo Tunbosun Ogundipe, FSM is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Physical Sciences, Computer Science Programme and also oversees the Directorate of Information Technology, Afe Babalola University, Ado – Ekiti (ABUAD). ABUAD is a model, benchmark, reference point and fastest growing private university in Africa (www.abuad.edu.ng). He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Honours) in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He has two Masters to his credit, Master in Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in Information System Management and Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Management. He has equally bagged the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Finance with specialization in Project Management and Finance.

He is a professional member of the Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN). Dr. Ogundipe is proficient in the use of 21st Century technology tools for cloud computing, virtualization, ubiquitous computing, wearable deployment, web development, networking and database management and skillful in writing programs with Java, C and C++, Visual Basic, Pascal, Fortran, COBOL, HTML, XML among many others.

He has professional certifications in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Oracle Certified 11g Administrator, Oracle Database SQL Certified Expert, ComptiA certification among many others. However, as a faculty in the Computer Science Programme of Afe Babalola University, he has taught and still teaches the students some University Computer Courses. He has supervised more than five (5) students’ projects while currently supervising three (3). He has equally taught and still students in Management, Business Administration, Finance, Optometry, Public Health, Physiology and Anatomy.

When seconded as the Director, Information Communication Technology, he oversees and manages the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) of the University ranging from networking administration, web administration, infrastructure management and security, performs oversight function on the University data centre for efficiency and effectiveness. A position he has occupied for about three years (December 2014 to Date)

He was the Chief Mentor of Team Nigeria and led the Team Nigeria (Team LifeWatch - comprises of Afe Babalola University students) to this year’s 2015 edition of Microsoft Imagine Cup competition to present a healthcare technological solution called Asthmavisor that will manage Asthma patients since there is no known cure for Asthma. The solution will assist in reducing morbidity rate thereby reducing the mortality rate and in-turns increase life expectancy. (July 2015)

He was significant in making the University continue its academic activities during the Covid-19 pandemic thereby migrating the physical academic activities (teaching and examination) to virtual (Online). This feat made the University's academic calendar to still become stable.

He has over twenty published to his credit. He has served and still serves on so many committees of the University. He is a scholar with over 15years cognate work experience that has travelled far and wide. He loves footballing and surfing nets. He is happily married with three (3) children.
